Smart Apple watches to Roll

Apple Set to Roll Out Smartwatches This Fall

Apple is set to unveil a line of smartwatches this fall. These devices can be worn on the wrist like current market leaders Gear 2 and Gear Fit by Samsung Electronics.

Apple will include more than 10 sensors on the devices, including one that measures heart rate like the Gear Fit. There will be a variety of size and design options, according to the Wall Street Journal on Friday.

The Apple smartwatches will go on sale as early as October. Taiwan's Quanta Computer, which produces Apple's Mac PCs, will begin testing the new smartwatches next month and start production in August or September.

U.S. website Business Insider reported that NBA star Kobe Bryant was testing an Apple prototype. In addition, major hospitals like the Mayo Clinic will be able to receive and manage physiological data gathered by the smartwatches.
